Anne Murray was born on June 20, 1945 in a coal-mining town of Springhill, Nova Scotia, Canada in a six children family. Althought her father was the town doctor and her mother a registered nurse who gave up her medical career to raise up the kids ,Anne remember her whole family singing together .
Anne loved music since she was a child, and she sang along with all her favourites Buddy Holly, , Bing Crosby ,Bobby Darin , Connie Francis, Patti Page .Rosemary Clooney. For up to six years she studied piano and at the age 15, she began taking classical voice lessons.

It was Brian Ahern, a show musical director, that convinced Anne she should record her first solo album” What about me “, produced by Ahern in Toronto,and released in 1968; in the fall of 1969, she released her second album, “This is my way “.After that ,Anne recorded about 63 studio albums between 1967 - 2008.

A.Murray received four Grammys, three American Music Awards, three Canadian Country Music Association Awards and twenty-four Juno Awards , three Country Music Association Awards,the Legacy Award from the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and the East Coast Music Association Directors’ Special Achievement Award (2001).
She was introduced into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002.
