What I really like about Leona Lewis - apart from her wonderful voice and her beauty- is that she’s a vegetarian from 12 years old -and this is something in my eyes! - and her fidelity to her childhood sweetheart from 10 ears old , now boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa who is nothing more than an electrician. I mean , how many stars do you know that didn’t forget where they started from ?

Anyway , the 23 years old British singer and song-writer had made her UK debut with the single “A moment like this ” in 2006 ,breaking a world record after it was downloaded over 50,000 times in just about 30 minutes !!!

Her second famous single ” Bleeding love ” was released in 2007 .

Lewis’ third single, a double A -side “Better in time ” and ” Footprints in the sand ” , was released in the United Kingdom in March 2008 .

Nice record, isn’t it ?!

But let’s stop talking and listening to her “Bleeding love ”

The lyrics are awesome, too…

Was a long and dark December
From the rooftops i remember
There was snow
White snow

Clearly i remember
From the windows they were watching
While we froze down below

When the future’s architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You’d better lie low

If you love me
Won’t you let me know?

Was a long and dark December
When the banks became cathedrals
And the fog
Became God

Priests clutched onto bibles
And went out to fit their rifles
And the cross was held aloft

Bury me in honor
When i’m dead and hit the ground
A love back home unfolds

If you love me
Won’t you let me know?

(Guitar Solo)

I don’t want to be a soldier
With the captain of some sinking ship
With snow, far below

So if you love me
Why’d you let me go?

I took my love down to violet hill
There we sat in snow
All that time she was silent still

So if you love me
Won’t you let me know?

If you love me,
Won’t you let me know?

“Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body. “ Oliver Wendell Holmes

“I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality.” H.A. Overstreet

“Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life. ” Ludwig van Beethoven

“Music’s the medicine of the mind. ” John A. Logan

”Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. ” Victor Hugo

“Music expresses feeling and thought, without language; it was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words. ” Robert G. Ingersoll

“If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. ” Gustav Mahler

“Why waste money on psychotherapy when you can listen to the B Minor Mass? ” Michael Torke

“Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends. “ Alphonse de Lamartine

” There is in souls a sympathy with sounds:
And as the mind is pitch’d the ear is pleased
With melting airs, or martial, brisk or grave;
Some chord in unison with what we hear
Is touch’d within us, and the heart replies.” William Cowper

“When words leave off, music begins. ” Heinrich Heine

“Truly to sing, that is a different breath. ” Rainer Maria Rilke

“Music is the shorthand of emotion. ” Leo Tolstoy

“Opera is where a guy gets stabbed in the back, and instead of dying, he sings. ” Robert Benchley

” Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies. “ Edward George Bulwer-Lytton

“A song has a few rights the same as ordinary citizens… if it happens to feel like flying where humans cannot fly… to scale mountains that are not there, who shall stop it? ” Charles Ives

” Music should strike fire from the heart of man, and bring tears from the eyes of woman.” Ludwig Van Beethoven

“Nothing separates the generations more than music. By the time a child is eight or nine, he has developed a passion for his own music that is even stronger than his passions for procrastination and weird clothes.” Bill Cosby

“A song will outlive all sermons in the memory.” Henry Giles

“New age ” is not exactly a new form of music , the term refers to the feelings that this music produces rather than to a specific kind of music .It is a relaxing music that induces positive feelings and creates a peaceful atmosphere at home or at the place of work with the explicite purpose of helping people to meditate and relax .

The music includes both electronic and acoustic forms ,featuring instruments such as piano, flutes ,acoustic guitar , harps , tamboura ,tabla and many others along with human voices .\

The early new age musicians were Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Harold Budd, Holger Czukay, ClusterJon Hassell, Laraaji and Jah Wobble followed by Alex de Grassi,William Ackerman, Andy Summers, George Winston ,Mars Lasar ,Mike Oldfield ,Steve Roach , Enya , Jim Brickman , Deep Forest and many others .

My favourites new age pieces are :

“Yosemite , Valley of Giants” by Mars Lasar

“Adiemus” by Enya

“The river sings ” by Enya

“Sweet lullaby” by Deep Forest

“Remembrance ” by George Winston

“The song of the sun ” bt Mike Oldfield

Listen to this peaceful piece of Mars Lasar, isn’t it amazing ?

I have found today a quote about love that I liked very much ( unfortunately the author is anonimus ) ,
“To love a person is to learn the song that is in their heart,
And to sing it to them when they have forgotten. ”

Love songs help you to see the world a more poetic and friendly place to live in. It helps you to express your amazing feelings towards your loved one in a much better way than you’ll be able to do just by using words. Love touches the sensitive part of our souls ,the one the is longing for affection since birth .Studies have showed that every normal human being is programmed to search for love , nobody can escape from its misterious power . We often say that we fell in love unexpectedly but this is not true , unconsciously we’ve been always waiting for .

Love songs are the perfect liants between two hearts that beat one for each other . Many pairs in love have their own love song which they call “special ” , a song that seems to have been written just for them . Songwriters have speculated from long ago the romantic form of expression the deepest feeling of lovers. Some of them were in love when they created them and you can feel it by the intensity of emotions showed by the content .

Top 5 love songs ( IMHO aka my classification )

Lynn Rene Anderson (born September 26, 1947) is an American country singer. She was a consistent hit maker and one of country music’s leading ladies throughout the 1970s. Her signature tune, “I never promised you a rose garden”, topped the country and pop charts around the world in 1970, becoming one of the biggest selling records in country music history. Her sophisticated image and Countrypolitan sound helped her to become one of the first female country artists to achieve mass crossover appeal.Billboard currently ranks Lynn Anderson among the top ten most successful female country artists for all-time record sales.

In 1970, Anderson moved to Nashville with her husband, writer/producer Glenn Sutton, and signed with Columbia . She quickly scored the biggest hit of her career with the Joe South-penned “(I never promised you a) Rose Garden which topped the country charts and went all the way to number three on the pop side. It won her a Grammy for Best Female Country Performance, and proved a hit in 15 countries.

The song was written by Joe South, who recorded his own version for his 1969 Introspect album. South’s recording was far from a commercial success. Anderson loved the song and was determined to record it. Her record company did not think the song appropriate for a female, as it contained the line “I could promise you things like big diamond rings”

With extra studio time remaining and no songs left to record during this particular session, according to Anderson, she ran home and got the Joe South album that contained “Rose Garden”. Reluctantly, her producer let her record the song. After hearing the finished product, Clive Davis insisted the song be her next single release. Unlike many of today’s country artists, Lynn Anderson did not set out to achieve pop success. Nobody expected that “Rose Garden” would become such a monster hit. The song topped the country charts (staying at the No. 1 spot for five consecutive weeks), reached No. 3 on the Billboard Pop charts, and hit No. 1 on the Cashbox Pop charts, something that was virtually unheard of at the time. The song was also a hit in fifteen countries around the world and made Anderson a household name.

In 1971, Anderson was presented a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Rose Garden”. Joe South also won a Grammy Award for writing the song. Lynn Anderson became the sixth person to ever win the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. In addition to the coveted Grammy Award, Anderson won the Academy of Country Music’s “Top Female Vocalist” award in 1970 (her second) and the CMA Awards’ Female Vocalist of the Year award in 1971. The album Rose Garden was released in 1971. The album went gold around the world, as well as being certified RIAA Platinum in the United States. Lynn Anderson’s crossover success was the beginning of what was in store for other country artists. Other artists who subsequently enjoyed crossover success during the decade inluded Eddie Rabbitt, Crystal Gayle, Olivia Newton-John, Kenny Rogers and Anne Murray. In 1971, Anderson released a Christmas album, simply entitled The Christmas Album, which featured re-makes of big holiday hits from the 1950s and 1960s. That same year she was chosen as Ambassador for the Christmas Seal Campaign. In 1972, she released a Greatest Hits album, one of many she would release in her career. source :wikipedia
