Leonard Cohen ,born on September 21, 1934 in Westmount, Quebec, is a Canadian of jewish origin singer, songwriter, poet and novelist.
The most popular and successful of Cohen’s early books was “Spice-Box Of Earth” ,the book who assured to Leonard Cohen international recognition.
In 1967 he made a remarkable debut as a songwrter with the piece “Suzanne”who became a hit for Judy Collins.
Cohen’s first album Songs of Leonard Cohen was not a commercial success, however was widely acclaimed by folk music fans.He followed up with Songs from a Room (1969), Songs of Love and Hate (1971), Live Songs (1973), New Skin for the Old Ceremony (1974),Death of a Ladies’ Man (1977)Recent Songs (1979),Various Positions (1984),I’m your man (1988),The future (1992), Cohen Live!(1994),Ten New Songs(2001),Dear Heather (2004) , Blue Alert (2006).
