“New age ” is not exactly a new form of music , the term refers to the feelings that this music produces rather than to a specific kind of music .It is a relaxing music that induces positive feelings and creates  a peaceful atmosphere at home or at the place of work with the explicite purpose of helping people to meditate and relax .

The music includes both electronic and acoustic forms ,featuring instruments such as piano, flutes ,acoustic guitar , harps ,  tamboura ,tabla and many others along with human voices .\

The early new age musicians were  Brian Eno, Robert Fripp,  Harold Budd, Holger Czukay, ClusterJon Hassell, Laraaji and  Jah Wobble followed by  Alex de Grassi,William Ackerman, Andy Summers,  George Winston ,Mars Lasar ,Mike Oldfield ,Steve Roach , Enya , Jim Brickman , Deep Forest and many others .
