LouisArmstrong was born on 4 august 1900 into a very poor family in New Orleans , Louisiana,being the grandson of slaves , and died on 6 July 1971 in New York,of a heart attack after playing a show at the Waldorf Astoria’s Empire Room.
He was known as one of the most famous jazz musicians of the 20th century, receiving Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1972 , by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
The single “Mack and Knife ” recorded in 1955 by Columbia was inducted in 1997 in “Grammy Hall of fame “.
Kenny Rogers was born August 21, 1938, in Houston, Texas; he’s a prolific American country music singer, producer, songwriter, actor ,photographer and businessman.Kenny was the fourth of seven children born to Floyd and Lucille Rogers , a carpenter and a nurse ,and he began his career as a musician in the mid-1950s, when he recorded with a doo-wop group called The Scholars who had some success with a single called “Poor Little Doggie”. Now he is the oldest artist in the history of country music.
The single “Lucille” , 1977 , was a major hit at that time , reaching number one on the pop charts in 12 countries, selling over five million copies, and firmly establishing Rogers’ post-First Edition career.

Creedence Clearwater Revival or in short CCR or Creedence was an American rock band who gained popularity between 1959-1972 .
The group consisted initially of singer and lead guitarist John Fogerty, drummer Doug Clifford, and bass player Stu Cook (all born 1945) and began playing instrumentals together under the name “The Blue Velvets” .Also ,they backed singer and rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, John’s older brother by four years .
By 1964, the band had signed to Fantasy Records, and released “Cast Your Fate to the Wind “, a national hit for jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi , which was a success.However in 1965, the group had suffered a setback when the draft board called up John Fogerty and Doug Clifford for military service.
It was only in 1967 ,when Saul Zaentz purchased Fantasy Records from Weiss ,that the band was offered a chance to record a full-length album,however with the condition of changing group’s name .Zaentz and the band made a brainstorming session and came up with ten suggestions each, but finally they all agreed to their first choice :” Creedence Clearwater Revival”. The band ’s name was inspired from Creedence Nuball, a friend of Tom Fogerty , “Clear water”, came from a TV commercial for Olympia beer , and ” Revival “, because the four members’ renewed commitment to their band.
By 1968, when Fogerty and Clifford have been discharged from military service ,the band members quit their jobs and began a busy schedule of playing area clubs full-time.Also, that year they released their first album as Creedence Clearwater Revival , which prompted them in the attention af public ,finally gaining ‘overnight success’ , after 8 years of playing music together.
The song “New soul” is interpreted by Yael Naim , a French -Israeli singer and song-writer , and rose to fame after “Apple ” used it in an advertising campaingn for its “MacBook Air” .The song reached a ” Billboard hot 100 “ high of number seven.
